Bristol Film Festival: The Poseidon Adventure

Director
Ronald Neame
Certificate
PG
Running Time
117 mins

Reverend Gene Hackman leads the passengers of a capsized ocean liner to safety. In trad Irwin Allen ’70s disaster flick style, they’re a diverse bunch of then-popular Tinseltown stars (Red Buttons, Roddy McDowall, Shelley Winters, etc). Mind you, it’s their own fault for being foolish enough to board a ship captained by Leslie Nielsen.

Billed, a tad worryingly, as an “immersive screening”, Bristol Film Festival‘s latest event aboard the SS Great Britain is a black tie affair beginning with a drinks reception in the ship’s dry dock prior to the screening in the First Class Dining Saloon.
