The popular Japanese manga Demon Slayer inspired an anime TV series, to which this film is a direct sequel. The official synopsis reminds us that after his family was brutally murdered and his sister turned into a demon, Tanjiro Kamado’s journey as a demon slayer began. Now he and his comrades embark on a new mission aboard the Mugen Train “on track to despair”, which sounds rather like the Bristol Temple Meads to Paddington service.

A huge box office hit which became the first Japanese film to take more than $400 million worldwide, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train is released in the UK in both dubbed and subtitled formats. Check with cinemas to find out whether they’re screening the version you want to see.
