French Film Festival on Tour: Mrs Hyde

Director
Serge Bozon
Certificate
15
Running Time
104 mins

Loathed by her colleagues and pupils, mousy Parisian physics teacher Madame Gequil (Isabelle Huppert) is struck by lightning in her private lab, unleashing a nocturnal alter ego to wreak havoc. Serge Bozon‘s idiosyncratic comic gender-swap update of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde won’t be to all tastes – and reviews have been decidedly mixed – but the great Isabelle Huppert is always good value.

It’s on screen as part of the French Film Festival on Tour.
