In this Slapstick Festival event, actress, presenter and comedian Sally Phillips (whose credits include the Smack the Pony, Miranda, and the Bridget Jones franchise) celebrates the comic talents of Louise Brooks. Best known for Pandora’s Box, Brooks was also an accomplished comedian, as she demonstrated in her fourth feature, It’s the Old Army Game, which will be screened in full.

This 1926 curio is a rare early silent W.C. Fields comedy, in which the old grump tries but fails to get some sleep. Fun fact: Brooks later married director A. Edward Sutherland. Their union lasted two years. Go here for tickets.
