The 273 kilometre Paris-Roubaix bike race is renowned as the world’s most spectacular and cruel one-day event of its kind. Back in 1976, Jørgen Leth succeeded in capturing its spirit in a documentary that has never been bettered.
Ahead of this year’s event on April 8, Cyclescreen presents a full screening of the film, followed by a Q&A with William Fotheringham – author of a new book about Leth and his ground-breaking documentary. A Sunday in Hell will be preceded by a screening of Leth’s rare short Eddy Merckx in the Vicinity of a Cup of Coffee.
