Belonging: The Truth Behind the Headlines + director Q&A

Director
Morag Livingstone
Certificate
12A
Running Time
89 mins

Described by Ken Loach as a “terrific film”, this new documentary sets out to expose where power really lies in the UK by re-examining three industrial disputes: Rupert Murdoch’s purchase of The Times and The Sunday Times in 1981, leading to the News International dispute (1986/7); Royal Mail as it prepared for privatisation (2007/8); and a dispute at the Grangemouth Oil Refinery in Scotland (2013).

The Curzon’s screening is followed by a panel Q&A with Morag Livingstone (director of Belonging), Richard Capps (PCS & Weston Trades Council), Dave Chapple (CWU & Bridgwater Trades Council), Tim Lezard (NUJ) and Brett Sparkes (UNITE Community).
