Originally released in 1989 to mark the 20th anniversary of the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing, Al Reinert‘s documentary is just as impressive today as it draws upon the same vault of NASA footage as the new 50th anniversary Apollo 11 film. It also benefits from a specially composed ambient soundtrack by Brian Eno, which is about to be reissued.

This UK premiere of the HD digital restoration launches Cinema Rediscovered‘s Restored and Rediscovered day.
