Chilean investigative journalist Carmen Luz Parot’s 2001 documentary tells the story of the Chilean national soccer stadium in the aftermath of Pinochet’s coup d’etat. Between September 11 and November 7, the stadium became the largest concentration camp in the country, where 12,000 people were held, tortured and killed. It’s a story that was never properly reported at the time.
The London-based director will be present for a discussion after this screening. She’ll be in conversation with Chilean writer and researcher Alia Trabucco Zerán, who currently works as a Research Associate for the School of Modern Languages at the University of Bristol. All proceeds go to Football Beyond Borders.
