Five Seasons: The Gardens of Piet Oudolf

Director
Thomas Piper
Certificate
12A
Running Time
80 mins

There’s plenty of inspiration for gardeners in this mediatative documentary about celebrated landscape designer Piet Oudolf.

Thomas Piper‘s film explores Oudolf’s creative process, from abstract sketches to theories on beauty and the ecological implications of his ideas. In addition to Oudolf’s own gardens at Hummelo and his signature public works in New York, Chicago, and the Netherlands, Five Seasons also has something of a local angle. It follows Oudolf as he designs and installs a major new garden at Hauser & Wirth Somerset in Bruton, which he considers his best work yet.
