Gunda

Director
Viktor Kossakovsky
Certificate
PG
Running Time
93 mins

Described as cinema in its purest form, Russian director Viktor Kossakovsky‘s follow-up to Aquarela offers 93 minutes of highly acclaimed, wordless, monochrome slow cinema.

Executive produced by Joaquin Phoenix, Gunda charts the daily lives of a sow and her piglets. There are supporting roles for a brace of cows and a one-legged chicken. It offers an opportunity to experience the world as farm animals do and will perhaps make viewers think twice about eating them. As the Hollywood Reporter observed: “No party-line screed, Gunda is a soul-stirring meditation on some of our most underappreciated fellow earthlings. For many viewers, it could well be life-changing too.”
