Human Flow

Director
Ai Weiwei
Certificate

Running Time
140 mins

Filmed in 23 countries, artist Ai Weiwei‘s epic documentary explores the staggering scale of the current refugee crisis, as 65 million people flee famine, war and climate change.

Human Flow takes an unapologetic moral stand but is still essentially an art movie, with some breathtaking drone footage. This has led to accusations in some quarters that the artist is guilty of “aestheticizing a dire situation”. note that the Arts House Cafe’s screening for the Bristol Refugee Festival is in two parts on June 4 & 11, with a discussion between scenes of each refugee camp presented.
