Imagine: John Lennon

Director
John Lennon, Yoko Ono
Certificate
TBA
Running Time
83 mins

Not to be confused with the 1988 film of the same title, this is a digitally remastered reissue of the 1972 self-styled “collage of colour, sound, dream and reality” produced by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, its centrepiece being videos for songs from the Imagine album and – perhaps a tad less enticingly, Yoko’s Fly – compiled from amateur footage shot at their home in Ascot during 1971. Watch out for walk-ons by George Harrison, Fred Astaire, Jack Nicholson, Andy Warhol and Dick Cavett.

The whole thing has been remastered frame-by-frame, with the soundtrack remixed in Dolby Atmos. The real treat is an additional 15 minutes of previously unreleased bonus footage of Lennon playing How Do You Sleep? and Oh My Love with his band: George Harrison, Rolling Stones pianist Nicky Hopkins, Yes drummer Alan White and bassist Klaus Voormann.
