A selection of fascinating short films from the Bristol Archives screened to mark 70 years of the NHS in the city. These include the Bishop of Malmesbury appealing to 1930s cinema audiences to help fund Bristol’s hospitals, several award-winning documentaries from the 1950s and 1960s made by Bristol Cine Society and F.G. Warne, and clips from local television news bulletins. The screening is followed by a Q&A with Anna Farthing, Arts Programme Director at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust, and Clive Burlton from the Bristol City Film Archive.
