The Secret Spitfires: The Director’s Cut

Director
Karl Howman, Ethem Cetintas
Certificate
PG
Running Time
82 mins

After the Luftwaffe destroyed the Spitfire factories at Southampton, dastardly Adolf assumed he’d dealt a major blow to Britain’s air force. But he reckoned without hundreds of plucky Brits, who promptly signed the Official Secrets Act and set about building thousands of the planes in shed, garages, bus depots and even a hotel in places like Salisbury, Trowbridge, Reading and Southampton.

Their extraordinary story is told in this crrowd-funded documentary, a special expanded director’s cut of which is screened as part of RAF100.
