PRSC and journey to Justice host the UK premiere of The Black Panthers: Vanguard of a Revolution director Stanley Nelson‘s PBS documentary exploring the role played by Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) is shaping American history, culture, and national identity.
This UK premeire features an intro from Michael Jenkins, a talk by Vanessa Wilson from Bristol University and a talk about the wider civil rights movement by Madge Dresser.
The evening also includes a screening of the locally made short film Grade, which tells the story of 17-year-old Janeece, who tries to finish her education while living with her church-going mum and sister in St Paul’s. Go here for further information and ticket details.
