Director
Med Hondo
Certificate

Running Time
102 mins

Mauritanian director Med Hondo‘s occasionally surreal avant garde 1970 drama follows an educated colonial immigrant as he arrives in Paris only to experience unemployment, blatant racism, bureaucratic indifference, rejection and humiliation. Recently restored by Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Foundation, it’s screened in Afrika Eye‘s Africa’s Lost Classics strand, and will be followed by a discussion.
