Shot on standard 8mm during the Easter holiday weekend of 1976 when he was just 17 years old, future Wallace and Gromit creator Nick Park‘s very first film, The Fisherman’s Tale, is a live action drama that demonstrates a youthful exuberance for visual storytelling.

Now he’s has restored his teenage dabbling for this belated public premiere as part of Cinema Rediscovered. The event will be introduced by Aardman Archivist Tom Vincent and includes a pre-recorded conversation with Nick hosted by Mark Cosgrove (Watershed/Cinema Rediscovered Curator).
