The film that elevated John Travolta from the B-list to the disco-era-defining white-suited bum from Brooklyn who becomes the king of the dancefloor with his much-parodied pointy dance. Yes, it’s painful stuff, though fans of disco rug-cutting and the sounds of KC and the Sunshine Band and those squeaky-voiced Bee Gees will find much to enjoy.

It’s back in screen in the Watershed’s Era-Defining Soundtracks season, which is in turn part of Filmic 20.
