A collaboration between choreographer Yuri Possokhov and theatre director Kirill Serebrennikov, with music by Ilya Demutsky, this new-ish ballet from the Bolshoi is adapted from three of the five short stories in Mikhail Lermontov’s novel.

These follow Byronic young officer Grigory Alexandrovich Pechorin on an epic journey across the Caucasus, during which this cynical and disillusioned anti-hero’s life is shaped by a series of passionate encounters and betrayals.
