BP Big Screens: Royal Opera House – La Boheme

Certificate
12A
Running Time
155 mins

A quartet of bohos share a grim garret in 1830s Paris. On Christmas Eve, poet Rodolfo is visited by neighbour Mimi and they promptly fall in love. But – hey! – this is opera, so misery can’t be far away.

This is the first revivial of the Royal Opera’s new production by Richard Jones, of Boris Godunov and Il trittico fame, boasting spectacular, stylised designs by Stewart Laing. It’s conducted by Nicola Luisotti, with Maria Agresta as Mimì and Matthew Polenzani as Rodolfo. This is the second of three free outdoor screenings in this year’s BP Big Screens programme in Millennium Square. You’re invited to bring a picnic. Go here for more details and conditions of entry.
