Exhibition on Screen: Lucian Freud – A Self Portrait

Director
David Bickerstaff
Certificate
PG
Running Time
86 mins

This latest insightful Exhibition on Screen documentary complements the current Royal Academy of Arts exhibition of the late Lucian Freud‘s self portraits, which comprises more than 50 works spanning seven decades.

Among the interviewees putting these into context are past sitters, friends and leading art experts such as Tim Marlow (Artistic Director, Royal Academy of Arts, London), Martin Gayford (Art Critic and Writer), Catherine Lampert (Art Curator and Writer), William Feaver (Art Curator and Writer) and Sebastian Smee (Art Critic). Director David Bickerstaff also gains access to Freud’s early works and enjoys a rare nose around his studio, which remains as it was when he died in 2011.
