Royal Opera House Live: The Marriage of Figaro

Certificate
12A
Running Time
205 mins

Bizarrely enough, The Marriage of Figaro was considered highly inflammatory back in the late 18th century for daring to depict servants outwitting their masters. This stage comedy naturally appealed to Mozart, who was eager to shake off the restrictions imposed by his aristocratic patrons. Now David McVicar‘s popular production returns to Covent Garden.

Broadcast live to Millennium Square from Covent Garden, this is the last in a trio of free outdoor screenings for 2019 in the annual BP Big Screens season. Pre-screening events start at 6:30pm and the screening itself commences at 7pm. Limited deckchair seating will be available on a first come, first served basis, and you’re invited to bring a picnic.
