Royal Opera House Live: Tosca

Certificate
12A
Running Time
180 mins

Rome during Napoleon’s invasion of Italy. After an escaped political prisoner scuttles into a church, an opera singer fights to save her artist lover from the sadistic police chief. Yes, it’s Puccini’s melodramatic opera of passion, jealousy, terror, torture and ropy plot contrivance.

The ROH is presumably hoping that the return of Jonathan Kent‘s production will prove a tad less troubled than the recent Met Opera one.
