Royal Opera House Live – Swan Lake

Certificate
12A
Running Time
180 mins

While out whacking beasts for his pot, Prince Siegfried happens upon a flock of swans. Good job he stops slaughterin’, cos one of them promptly turns into – phwoarr! – a hot lady named Odette. Naturally, our boy is smitten, but there’s a catch (there’s always a catch, right?) – Odette is held under a spell that permits her to regain human form only at night.

Something of a critical flop on its premiere back in 1877, Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake went on to become one of the world’s most popular ballets. This is the first revival of the Royal Ballet’s 2018 production by Liam Scarlett, who contributes additional choreography. The designs are by John Macfarlane.
