Director

Certificate

Running Time
94 mins

When Maureen O’Hara finds her Manhattan department store Santa is almost as pissed as Billy Bob Thornton, she hires as his replacement one ‘Kris Kringle’ (Edmund Gwenn) – a bearded older gentleman who proves to be particularly keen on placing other people’s children on his knee. Alas, suspicions arise that he is, in fact, a nutter. So he promptly winds up in court with nothing less than the existence of Santa on trial.

Edmund Gwenn bagged an Oscar back in 1947 for his performance in this evergreen sentimental festive flick. Bristol Film Festival‘s screening is part of its Christmas programme in the Passenger Shed. Go here for tickets.
