Back for Halloween, this German expressionist masterpiece from 1920 is based on a version of the Golem legend in which a Rabbi fashions a man from clay in 16th century Prague to save the Jewish community from annihilation.

This new 4K restoration is screened with live musical accompaniment from HarmonieBand and forms part of both the Curzon’s welcome season of folk horror for Halloween and the collaboration between South West Silents, Bristol Festival of Ideas, Cube Cinema, the Curzon and the Watershed celebrating the films of the Weimar Republic as well as the City and Silent Film.
