Now in its second year and billed as the UK’s first touring wildlife film festival, this Bristol-based fest presents a selection of the finest short independent wildlife films from around the world. It’s the brainchild of zoologist filmmaker Dan O’Neill, who recruited some of the most acclaimed wildlife filmmakers to whittle down a shortlist from more than 100 submitted films each year. The judges include award-winning cameraman Doug Allan (Blue Planet, Planet Earth, Frozen Planet), naturalist and author Stephen Moss (Britain’s Big Wildlife Revival, Springwatch) and producer/director Louise Heren (Big Cat Diaries). The selected film range from an exploration of how the snow leopard and Himalayan communities co-exist to the an account of the diminishing population of orangutans in Borneo and an expose of the impact of noise pollution in seas on the majestic humpback whale.
