Meet astronomer Ellen (Lee Grant) are her sister Cissy (Carol Kane). They live together in a crumbling mansion bequeathed to them by their anthropologist father. With Cissy’s pet ‘mafus’ (monkeys) in a cage in the living room, obviously. Ellen has been struggling to keep her sibling reasonably sane since their father’s passing, but all hell breaks loose when she starts seeing a co-worker.
