The Haunting

Director
Robert Wise
Certificate
12A
Running Time
112 mins

Back on screen for Halloween, Robert Wise‘s original 1963 adaptation of Shirley Jackson‘s The Haunting of Hill House remains one of the most unsettling supernatural horror films ever made, largely on account of leaving so much to the imagination.

Richard Johnson stars as a psychic researcher who invites a pair of mediums to help investigate a reputedly haunted mansion. Things literally go bump in the night in what has been hailed – not least by Martin Scorsese – as the greatest haunted house flick in cinema history.
