Chinese New Year celebrations at Wai Yee Hong

Date: Saturday, Feb 17 2018
Time: 11:00am
Venue: Wai Yee Hong

Welcome in the Year of the Dog at Wai Yee Hong in Eastville as they host Bristol’s biggest free Chinese New Year celebrations.

With traditional live firecrackers, visitors will greet the new year with a bang – alongside lion dance and kung fu performances from the Yi Quin lion dance troupe, and singing and dancing performances from Street Envy, South Gloucestershire Chinese Women’s Group and X Factor finalist Tita Lau.

A festive new year market will feature hot food from a variety of traders, as well as traditional Chinese bakery items, festive Chinese gifts and face painting.

For little ones who may find the kung fu lions a little too loud, there will be an intricately crafted papier-mâché lion head on display inside and a craft table.
