Bath Camerata
Bath Camerata, under their musical director Benjamin Goodson, presents a powerful and reflective programme of choral music for Holy Week. At turns contemplative, at others breathtaking and compelling, this concert centres on the motets of JS Bach, James MacMillan and Heinrich Schütz. The programme includes the British premiere of Friedrich Cerha Vier Hölderlin Fragmente and ends with a modern masterpiece: James MacMillan’s setting of the Miserere which, beginning out of nothing, charts an extraordinary arc to its breathtaking, full-throated conclusion.
