Albert Hammond Jr

Date: Saturday, Sep 15 2018
Time: 6:30pm
Venue: Thekla
Price: £14

Better known as the guitarist for indie-rock legends The Strokes, Albert Hammond Jr’s solo material takes him in a more eclectic and personal direction. While Julian Casablancas is the chief songwriter for The Strokes, Hammond Jr co-wrote Room on Fire’s ‘Automatic Stop’ and the songs that played in the background of The Strokes 2011 tour video.

It was these songs that formed the basis of debut solo work, Yours To Keep. The album released on Rough Trade records and featured a smorgasbord of indie celebrities including Sean Lennon, Ben Kweller and Fountains of Wayne’s Jody Porter.

With Casablancas currently busy with side project, The Voidz, Hammond Jr has seized the opportunity to further his solo venture and has recently released ‘Francis Trouble’, an album that looks at loss and identity.
