Pale Waves guitar heavy dark pop has been making its own waves, coming fifth in the BBC’s sound of 2018 and touted as the next big thing. Formed by best friends and self-confessed ‘musical soul mates’ the band grabbed the attention of the 1975’s Matt Healy who co-produced their first two singles and brought them along on tour. Supported at Thekla by DIY’s class of 2018 list makers Our Girl and buzzy newcomers Bloxx, those who didn’t manage to snag a ticket missed out.
