- Andrew Christie Quartet
Jazz pianist Andrew Christie and his long-established quartet introduce cool and contemporary music from their latest album Difference and Repetition. The band’s distinctive sound comes from the rich sonic combination of Andrew’s piano with Sarah Moody’s cello, Jon Short’s double bass and the supple drumming of Greg White. Difference and Repetition is a new collection of original compositions that seamlessly weaves modern jazz elements into an ambient, cinematic underscore.
Sarah Moody has worked for over 18 years as a musician, music director and composer with theatre companies such as Kneehigh, Wildworks and Travelling Light and has written music for BBC Radio.
Jon Short studied music at the Dartington College of Arts between 2001 and 2004. Following this, he returned to his native city of Bristol where he has since been in demand as a bass player on the jazz and folk scene.
Greg White is a versatile, dynamic and much sought-after drummer. Originally from France, he went on to study music in London. He has been living in Bristol for the last 18 years and in that time has become an active musician on its vibrant music scene.
Andrew Christie started playing the piano from the age of six, following in the footsteps of his father the jazz pianist and songwriter John Christie. Since then, Andy has gone on to compose for and perform in a wide range of ventures from jazz and folk festivals to theatrical productions and art installations.
