James Paton is a Bristol born singer/songwriter, bedroom producer and established pro drummer. His music combines a jazz/soul vocal with rock, pop and hip hop sensibilities. His influences range from Anderson Paak to D’Angelo through to Amy Winehouse. It’s a passionate canvas of hard hitting beats, deep raspy melodic synth bass lines and rich vocal harmonies over a bed of Rhodes and Piano roses, finished with an edge of raging rock guitar. It portrays his feelings, depicting his early encounters with love and lust, inspired by the sounds of late night Bristol. Tuesday the 5th September with mark the launch night for James’s debut EP First Impressions. He will perform live as a front man and singing drummer among a live band of friends from Bristol’s budding session circuit.
