Squeeze will be heading back to Bristol next year with their ‘Join The Dots’ tour. Their special guests will be their old mates, blues legends Nine Below Zero.
Riding high on the back of New Wave, Squeeze made their recording debut way back in 1977. and over the ensuing years produced a string of chart hits, such as ‘Cool for Cats’, ‘Up The Junction’ and ‘Tempted’. The Ivor Novello Award-winning songwriting duo Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook went their separate ways in 1998 to concentrate on different projects, but later revived their partnership and relaunched Squeeze in 2007.
Squeeze released ‘Spot The Difference’ in 2010, which was a collection of reworkings of hits from their back catalogue. More recently the band have been working on the album ‘From The Cradle To The Grave’, their first album of all-new material since ‘Domino’ in 1998. Much of the music on the album features in the BBC TV comedy series Cradle To Grave, based on the life of their old friend, DJ and broadcaster Danny Baker, who grew up in Deptford – the old stomping ground of the band.
