Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Xenia Rubinos is based in Brooklyn, New York. She champions her Puerto Rican and Cuban heritage as an element of her work but her vocal delivery and sense of groove are at the forefront of each idiosyncratic song. She received enthusiastic praise from Pitchfork, Mojo, Uncut and others for her second album Black Terry Cat in which she explores themes of racial inequality in the USA and Afro-Latina empowerment.
