The People’s Mansion
2019 marks the 60 year anniversary of Ashton Court being purchased by Bristol City Council and becoming a mansion for the people.
To celebrate, Artspace Lifespace is opening the doors of Ashton Court with a free heritage family day out. Featuring:
• Theatrical vignettes depicting the fascinating history of Ashton Court Estate from Show of Strength
• Games on the South Lawn
• The Future of Ashton Court Mansion – six schools from Bristol and North Somerset who participated in artist workshops in June share their visions for its future
• Heritage exhibition curated by local volunteers and local artist Amy Hutchings
• Performance from Opera Sulis
