The Anti-Brexit Love Show
Bristol’s Remainia Productions present this “satirical and sometimes silly revue, some of it set to music”. Supported by Bristol for Europe.
“On June 24 2016, nearly half the country woke up to the biggest collective depression since the announcement of World War 2 in 1939.
“Almost a year later and they were scratching their heads in surprise at the result of a General Election that should have been in Theresa May’s bag.
is needed now More than ever
“To Brexit or not to Brexit and how to Brexit has been a main theme taxing the brains of all political parties since. It has perplexed some politicians so much that they have been heard to proclaim to the nation at large that ‘Breakfast means Breakfast’ – to the bewilderment of Leavers and Remainers alike.
“Nevertheless, it was the Remainers who felt largely overlooked in the tabloid-induced febrile atmosphere that ensued when they were decried as ‘Remoaners’ and High Court Judges were denounced as ‘Enemies of the People.’
“This show came about because a group of Remoaner writers decided to have a bit of therapeutic fun by taking a satirical look at the B word and invited a bunch of very talented performers to take part in the resulting Anti-Brexit Love Show.”
June 19-23, 8pm, £11/£9 concs. Run time 75 mins.
