If 4.8 million pieces of Lego washed up on your shore, what would you do?
In 1997, a freak storm exposed a container ship at sea. With it, nearly five million pieces of Lego were lost to the power of the tide. Inspired by this true story, INKBLOC ensemble present their debut show Lego® Beach, a story about a community whose lives are broken and built with the snap of a Lego® block.

Using original live music with haunting layered harmonies and found-sound, the company create a vibrant and vivid seaside town. Ensemble storytelling and movement collide, as the lives of the townspeople are woven together by the collective experience of a colourful community facing a very un-natural disaster.
INKBLOC ensemble are a 12 strong bloc of theatre makers, who have been creating together since September 2016, already developing a distinct creative stamp, embracing original music, comedy, movement and improvisation. Since forming the company, INKBLOC work includes 17, an intergenerational piece created in association with Wyldwood Arts and School Crumble, a piece written, directed and performed in the space of a day as part of The 24 Hour Plays: Bristol.
Made in Bristol is a graduate scheme from Bristol Old Vic’s Engagement department, allowing 12 young people aged 18-25 to take the next step toward becoming theatre makers. The company are resident at Bristol Old Vic for two days a week for a year. The group train to become workshop leaders, assistants and hone their craft, creating work that can reach out across Bristol and the South West. Previous Made in Bristol companies include The Wardrobe Ensemble and Propolis Theatre (Spill).
