Ukip porn actor ‘sacked’ as party vice chair
John Langley, the Bristol Ukip vice chairman suspended by the party for filming a porn film in Castle Park, claims he has been sacked.
Langley – better known as for his porn name Johnny Rockard – stood in the local elections in the ward of Stockwood.
But the adult entertainment star and producer was suspended when the party discovered he filmed an oral sex scene with himself and his partner in the city centre park during the daytime.
is needed now More than ever
Bristol Ukip’s acting chairman said Langley had not been sacked, but received a vote of no confidence by branch committee members – triggering the election of a new vice chairman.
The party is set to convene in about 30 days when it will also vote on a new chairman, after Steve Wood stepped down.
Langley said he had been wrongly sacked over the film, which he argues does not constitute a criminal act of public indecency.
“You can take it from me that I have now been sacked from my position of vice chair of the Bristol branch of Ukip. Or so it’s been leaked to me,” he revealed.
“As for whether I’m still a member of the party, watch this space. But I see no valid reason as to why I shouldn’t continue to be,” he added.
Acting chairman Michael Frost, Ukip councillor for Hengrove, said: “We supported his extra-curricular activities as a porn filmmaker, because he wasn’t doing anything which broke the law and we are a libertarian party.
“It wasn’t until he committed an act of gross indecency in Castle Park and published it online that we took action.”
Frost said there was a vote of no confidence at a party meeting, where it was decided that a new vice chairman should be voted in at the next AGM.
He said Langley would remain a Ukip member and thanked him for working hard for the local party. “John did an enormous amount of good work for the branch and we were already aware of him making adult films with consenting adults,” he said.
Following the release of the Castle Park video, Langley was initially asked to resign by now-former chairman Wood, but he refused the request – triggering his suspension.
Wood has stepped down from his role due to business commitments, Frost added.
