Video: Dutch-style cycle lane finally open
The lauded “Dutch-style” segregated cycle lane along Clarence Road has finally been completed – 18 months behind schedule.
The 700-metre, £380,000 lane was beset by delays from the start after the river wall along the Avon New Cut was found to be unstable.
Further delays came when “innovative” bollards initially installed to separate cars from cyclists had to be replaced with kerbs due to impacts with vehicles.
