Craig David added to Forest Live 2017 bill

By Viv Beech  Monday Jan 23, 2017

UK garage legend Craig David will be performing at Westonbirt Arboretum on Sunday, June 18 as part of the Forestry Commission’s, Forest Live 2017, programme of shows at forest venues around the country.

Featuring heavily in the charts in the early noughties with hits such as Rewind with Artful Dodger, Fill Me In and the duet Rise and Fall with Sting, he made an emphatic return in 2016.

Hits such as When the Bassline Drops with Grime artist Big Narstie, Nothing Like This with Bristolian duo Blonde and featuring on Kaytranada’s highly-acclaimed album 99.9% with the track Got it Good have propelled him back into the spotlight.

Speaking about the gig, Craig said: “I’m really looking forward to playing at Forest Live, there’s always something special about playing outside in the English summer!”

Also on the Forest Live bill are Mercury Prize winners Elbow, chart favourite Olly Murs and the king of internet trolling, Rick Astley.

Income from Forest Live is spent by the Forestry Commission on ‘improving and expanding’ England’s forest areas, showing the value of woodland areas to the public and wildlife.
