Preview: Rave of the Decade, Part 2

By Jodie Guichard  Thursday Sep 22, 2016

Alfresco Disco will return with the second part of their journey into the history of rave next month.

The Bristol party institution will this time take us back to the early Sunrise parties on Saturday, October 1.

Always intent on providing the most memorable party experiences, the gang will once again collect a convoy of avid music lovers and transport them to a secret location just outside Bristol filled with the most unique themes and perfectly formulated lineups.

At Rave Of The Decade Part One attendees were delivered to Weston Pier in a converted ice cream parlour. Organisers created a surreal, retro arcade vibe and every detail was covered to ensure you were fully sucked into the 90s warehouse party theme.

The event also marked the organiser’s 10th anniversary and featured the likes of A Guy Called Gerald, Eats Everything, Adesse Versions, Bill Brewster, Bez and DJ Die.

This time the promoters are taking inspiration from the culture-defining early Sunrise parties of the late ’80s and early ’90s. A golden era for DJs, the inspirational Sunrise movement helped the underground music scene break into large-scale dance events that rocked the raving nation.

Decades on and the Alfresco team have been at the forefront of yet another significant chapter.

Their rigorously planned events, secret and extraordinary locations, attention to detail, and exquisite music taste has allowed them to build an impeccable reputation.

Not only that, they have managed to create a perfect balance of taking all the good bits out of illegal raves and free parties, while giving birth to something that perfectly pivots on the right side of fun and the law.

The buzz of next week’s events is already rippling through the city and although tickets are still available, they are selling very quickly.

A convoy of coaches will be elevating us to the secret location 20 minutes outside of Bristol from 2pm to 3pm on the day. After that, what happens is a mystery. But what’s guaranteed is their strongest lineup to date and yet another incredible night to remember.
