Barny Haughton wins Bristol Food Hero Award

By Alison Maney  Friday Apr 29, 2016

Cook and food educator Barny Haughton, who runs Bristol restaurants Rocinantes, Quartier Vert and Bordeaux Quay and cookery school Square Food Foundation, won the BBC Radio Bristol Food Hero Award as part of the BBC Food & Farming Awards 2016.

Barny was presented the award on Thursday in a Bristol ceremony. The Food Hero Award is given to an individual in the West of England who has made a difference to the food in people’s everyday lives.

“Barny’s unrivalled cooking, his pioneering approach to food, his love of teaching and his natural ability to make meaningful connections with every single student who attends Square Food makes him a true food hero,” said those nominating the cook.
