Help for refugees in Greece

By Ally Coles  Friday Nov 20, 2015

Bristol Skipchen will be providing much needed food to the Greek island of Lesbos in response to the huge amount of refugees entering Europe.

A team of six volunteers from Bristol are driving more than 2000 miles to support refugees, migrants and all those looking for an existence more than survival.

The team will begin their journey at the end of this week, travelling to to the Greek island to set up a fully functional kitchen to provide hot, nutritious meals to those stranded with no food or shelter. The kitchen will also provide much needed employment to the village.

The need for this help is increasing every day, and Skipchen co-founder Sam Joseph hopes to bring awareness to problem in Greece.

Sam said: “We hope to work closely with the great organisations already on the ground and use social media to provide a human perspective of the reality refugees are facing on a day to day basis.

“Furthermore this is a demonstration of what can be achieved with crowd funding, thank everyone who has donated so far and put us in a position to carry out this work.”
