Murdered teenager was dad-to-be

One of the suspects arrested for the murder of a Lockleaze teenager was his half brother, it has been revealed as it also emerged the the victim was to be a father.

Shamus Mcnama, 17, was found with knife wounds at a home in Stothard Road at about 5.5am on Sunday. He died of his injuries at Southmead Hospital.

Two men aged 18 and 19 were arrested. One of them is believed to be the victim’s half brother AJ Watson, according to ITV.

Shamus was also expecting a child, it emerged on Monday after a picture of his unborn baby girl was left at the scene with a note saying: “RIP Daddy. I never go to meet you taken too soon but will always be a part of me and in my heart forever. Love from your beautiful baby girl.”

A crowdfunding page, entitled RIP Slimz, raised almost £4,000 for the family of the SGS pupil by 5pm on Monday.

Set up by Jodie White, the Go Fund Me page said: “Sadly taken way to [sic] soon and so young Shamus would do anything for anyone, he’s loved by so many so let help out his family if we can.

“Each and every one of you are amazing, thank you for the support in giving this wonderful fun loving kind caring special lad a send off Shamus style.”

Detective Inspector Richard Pegler said on Sunday evening that the stabbing was an isolated incident between people known to each other.
